How to etch into plexi glass : 3 steps.
I made a video on how to light up etches, but not the actual etching. If you want more info on how to light it up, check out my other video.
I used the thundercats logo to get a design.I drew it myself and blew it up.The piece of glass was taped.I used a dremel tool to handetch it.When etching alway try to go down and leave behind a cleaner and deeper cut.The logo is in backwards in the picture. When flipped around the logo is the right way because I want the cut into half on the back.
Warm water, rubbing alcohol, windex, dish soap, and simple green are not required to make the plexi glass look as good as possible after the etching is done.Make sure the coat is taken off.Make sure the water is warm, if it is hot you will warp the glass. The quantities don't matter in a big bowl. You should put the glass in the cleaners.Take some paper towels and lay them down to dry the plexi glass after you rinse it with warm and cold water.
To get a better understanding of how I put the light in and glue the circuit board on top, read up on the other instructions.

It really helped me out, thanks for putting this together. While nodding my head in approval, I would give you a firm, but respectable handshake.

Why am I only finding this now?I did a similar thing with Spiderman recently.

I have been in the sign industry for 25 years and have never used a standard dremal tool to mark things.Don't press hard and break the plex. The lighting is very good and the tool accepts the plex very well.I used leds for every inch of lenght across the plex.I will post some of my pictures soon. It's still a great job.!

I have a cheapo tape measure with a thundercats logo.I assumed that Panthor had a tape measure when he worked on those machines.

Unless you know what you're doing, mixing a "concoction of cleaners" is usually a bad idea.Toxic fumes can ruin your weekend. The logo looks tight.

I put the "concoction" in the tutorials because I know it's safe.!

If you mix household chemical cleaners, they will attack and damage your plastic.Warm water and T.S.P. can be used for cleaning acrylic plastic.A box of Tri-Sodiumphosphate is cheaper than a bottle of windex and will make gallons of cleaner once mixed.

I didn't know about it.Is the culprit the CHEM in the windex?I make my own window cleaners. It's just curious.

You bet... I know...The effects of Ammonia can be seen after the first time you use it.When you edge light it, it will be hazed and noticeable. You don't need gloves with the soap and water mix, it's cheap, safe and effective, and you can also use windex to strip.

I did something similar and it was very easy to do.It would be hard to do it by hand, but you can get 2 sheets of plexiglass and sandwich the logo together.

Is it possible to make an Instructable with smaller pieces of plexi-glass and a track to hold them? You will get credit for the idea.

This could use a little more work.It is very difficult to do the etching on the plexi because you only have one step.Is it possible to add more steps like tools and safety equipment? How deep are you going to etch into the plexi?Adding a link to your other instructable will make it easier for your reader to find it.I think there is room for improvement.I might make something like this if you have peaked my intrest.
