It's important that you don't waste your life. You should feel positive about the next day. How?With the right mindset, an attitude of gratitude, and a little paying forward, you'll be looking forward to each day, no question.
Step 1: This day only happens once.
It's a pretty basic idea, but it can help remind you to be positive and make the most of this day.Is today going to be good? How will you remember? Is it another tally under the "Good days" column? It helps you separate out the days, so you don't have to deal with stress from one day to the next.It helps you live like each day is a separate life when you only have one day to deal with it.
Step 2: Stop waiting.
There are a lot of people who live in a land of "ifs" when it comes to their happiness. If I lost a bit of weight, I could be happy with myself. Most of the time, these things don't happen and things that do happen should not have an effect on our happiness. Each day becomes more enjoyable if you stop waiting.Don't wait for them to come around to you and go after the things you want, seize them, and make them happen.
Step 3: You should cultivate an attitude of gratitude.
It's usually because we take for granted what we have, that we forget how to enjoy life.We start to focus on the things we don't have when it's in front of us.This isn't very healthy and can lead to anxiety, stress, and depression.Think of what you have.It all has value, whether it is a nice car in the garage or a family at the dinner table. If this catches your attention, make a list.Don't forget basic things like your health if you write down everything you are grateful for.Break out the list when you're feeling down, it will give you an instant lift-me-up.It's easier to be grateful when you take pride in what you do.You keep the wheels turning at your job even though you may be punching numbers. If you don't have a nice car, but you put food on the table for your family, it's a pretty great family.
Step 4: It's time to celebrate your successes.
We tend to focus on what others are doing instead of what we do.It's a sure way to be on the browner side of the fence and to have each day slip by unhappily. It's a good idea to pat yourself on the back when you do great things. You have the ability to make every day wonderful, along with value and skill. It doesn't have to be a big deal.Be happy if you met a deadline.Did you actually make it to the finish line?Excellent, look at you! It's a good idea to see the little things you're capable of and focus on the positive.
Step 5: Life's simple pleasures have value.
It's too easy to forget about peace of mind as the gap between rich and poor widens. We see the CEOs making a lot of money. The CEOs are not enjoying those days as much as the rest of us.Why?A cup of hot cocoa on a rainy day is one of the many simple pleasures that life has to offer. The little things seem like nothing. They're just about everything.Next time you're watching TV, playing with your cat, or hanging out with friends, take a moment to realize that this moment is pretty darn good, and that it's moments like these that make life worth living.
Step 6: Don't be sad, and laugh at yourself.
People that aren't fun are what we've met. They don't laugh because they put a negative spin on everything. What is the point in living now?All of life becomes more enjoyable if you don't take anything too seriously. If you can laugh at pink soap, try to find something similar every day.Pink soap! You should laugh at yourself. You should laugh when you do silly things. You would laugh at your friends. You won't worry about nothing being a big deal.It will be enjoyable from the day you decide to not take everything seriously. What is the point in worrying?
Step 7: Don't worry about the small stuff.
You know the expression, "There's no use crying over spilled milk?"The little things in life that are seemingly out of our control aren't worth getting upset about and giving power to.What about the traffic?Nope, that's right. There is a line at the counter.Nope, that's right. The spilled milk?Absolutely not.Life is full of small stuff that keeps us from enjoying it.It isn't worth it.How do you do that?It begins with Step 1 above. It all becomes the best story you'll ever be a part of when you realize that time is precious. The bad stuff? That just happens. It makes your story interesting.
Step 8: Good care of your body is important.
Have you ever been fine one day and then sick the next, broken leg, or something else? You didn't know how easy life was until this happened.Health is important, but we don't realize how enjoyable it is.If you don't have yours, take good care of yourself. It will be appreciated by your body and mind. There are two surprising things you can do.Keep moving and eat right. You don't stop moving if you get old.Fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean meats are some of the foods that make your body feel good. It's easier to follow your mind when your body feels good.
Step 9: Allow time to relax.
Humans are living in the present. It's a time when we worry about money, clothes, and Jones' things. It's definitely not for the best that we're living this way.We need to take time to just live and relax. It should be a top priority.Make time if you don't have time for it.It affects your health and happiness. You can get back to firing on all cylinders with just 20 minutes a day of "me time".It's fine if you enjoy meditating, napping, or watching TV as long as you don't mind.
Step 10: It's time to take small, baby steps on your path to life enjoyment.
It's not likely that you'll change the way you think at the press of a button. You can read all the positive stuff, but it won't make you change your mind.Tomorrow, resolve to be 1% better. You're going to laugh or be grateful in one instance today. You will do it 1% more tomorrow. You don't have to be perfect right now, just be on the right path. You will probably find that you want to go faster. You will want more after 5 minutes of being grateful or laughing at yourself. It is good to take it slowly.
Step 11: Do something you enjoy.
You've heard it many times: follow your passions, find your dreams, do what you love and never work a day in your life.Part of your day should be devoted to something that makes you happy. You love it even if it isn't your passion or your dream.A life filled with purpose is much easier to enjoy than a life without one. It's not an option for many of us to do what we love for a living right now.You don't have to do what you love from 9 to 5 every day. It'll keep you going if you fit it in where you can. You'll want to keep going.Doing what you love will give you drive and ambition, and make you look forward to each and every day.
Step 12: You should make friends with your coworkers.
Life is easier when you get along with those around you. It's not necessary to have them over for dinner every night. You don't know who can help you out or who you can depend on.This isn't limited to your coworkers.People in your circle could be a little closer if you made friends with your neighbors and in-laws.Friends at work, being friendly with your neighbors, and having a large social network will help you feel loved and secure.
Step 13: Every day, find something beautiful to appreciate.
It is easy to spend your days in a cubicle and nights in front of a TV.It's hard to remember how beautiful the world is.Look for a piece of beauty in your life and acknowledge it.Let it sink in.Isn't this world amazing? It could be a rose you passed on the street or something else.It could be an exchange of people helping each other out. What makes you beautiful? What about your appearance?
Step 14: Positive people will fill your life.
If we're looking at each day as a separate life, then life is too short to be surrounded by negative vibes.Don't waste your time with people who are negative in your world. You should surround yourself with people who make you feel good. There is a reward for doing otherwise. It must be done to end a toxic friendship.Hopefully they'll get the hint, and you can slowly start seeing this person less and less. You may need to say something like, "I'm working on being more positive and enjoying each day, and sometimes you keep me from being able to do that" if they don't.Who doesn't know? You may inspire them to become better themselves.
Step 15: Show your love for those you care about.
The old adage "It is better to give than to receive" is true because it fills us with a warm fuzzy feeling that we've helped someone out and done a good deed.If you give affection to those around you, you're going to feel good about yourself and your days. The love will likely come back in return, making your days even better.Say hello to someone you care about the next time you see them.If it lasts about 7 seconds, both of your brains will start releasing the chemicals in our brains that make us happy. It doesn't have to be people you're close to.Asking a coworker how his day was can show you care, too.Pay it forward and spread the love by taking the small opportunities.
