The Windows Hosts file can be edited to show the addresses of the hosts.Most people don't need to change this file, but sometimes it is necessary.You can learn how to open, edit and save the Windows Hosts file.

The menu is at the bottom of the window.You should see a few files, including the hosts file.
Step 8: Click Open if you want to open the hosts file.
The hosts file is open for editing.
Step 9: Make changes to the file.
The correct lines can be added to the file when it is open.The first thing you'll want to do when you add a line to the hosts file is to enter the internet protocol address.Keep each entry on its own line if you separated the two with a space or tab.The lines that start with a symbol called # are considered comments.If you want to add a symbol to the beginning, just add it.If you accidentally disabled something you can easily reactivate old entries.
Step 10: You can save the file by clicking the File menu.
