It is easy to make play-dough without cream of tartar. The traditional recipe calls for flour, salt, water, and oil.You can also use conditioners to make play-dough.Food coloring can be used to add color to your project.
Step 1: The conditioner should be poured into a bowl.
Pick something that makes you happy. The play dough will turn out the same color as the conditioner, so choose wisely.White conditioner is a good choice if you want to make your own color.
Step 2: If you want, add some food coloring.
Start with 1 to 2 drops.Add more if you want.Make sure you use the same color of food coloring for your conditioner if you want a deeper color.
Step 3: If you want, add some glitter to make it sparkle.
You can either use the same color of glitter as your conditioner or food coloring, or you can use a different color.Extra-fine glitter is the best, but you can use regular glitter as well.Start with a small amount of glitter and add more as you please.
Step 4: Add in 1 cup of cornstarch.
The longer you work with the dough, the more it will turn smooth.Transfer it to a smooth counter or cutting board when it starts to look like frosting. If you can't find anything else, try cornflour.
Step 5: If necessary, add more cornstarch to the dough.
The longer you work on the dough, the more solid it will become. For about 1 minute, plan on kneading it.You can always add more cornstarch if the dough feels sticky.
Step 6: The dough should be kept in a container.
This will help keep the dough soft when you are not playing with it.
Step 7: In a pot, mix the water, lemon juice, and oil.
Measure out the water and put it in a pot.Lemon juice has a concentration of about three-fourths of a liter. Then, stir in a small amount of vegetable oil.
Step 8: When it's just about boiling, heat the mixture over low heat.
Put the pot on the stove burner. The mixture should heat up slowly.
Step 9: Food coloring or powdered Kool-Aid can be put into the mixture.
You can add food coloring to the play-dough.You can add color and scent by adding 2 packages of powdered Kool-Aid.You can use both if you want a bright hue.You can change the amount of food coloring you use.The play dough will turn out sticky if you don't use unsweetened Kool-Aid.
Step 10: In a separate bowl, mix the flour and salt.
All-purpose flour can be poured into a mixing bowl.Table salt should be added with 14 cup (75 g).Put them together with a spoon.All-purpose flour is better than whole wheat.Don't use rock salt or sea salt.
Step 11: Slowly add the hot liquid mixture to the flour mixture.
Make sure you stir as you pour. This will keep the play-dough from being hard.
Step 12: Continue to stir until the dough ball forms.
When you stir, the dry ingredients absorb the wet ingredients and form a dough ball. You can stop stirring once the liquids have been absorbed. If the mixture seems too sticky, flatten the dough on the bottom of the pot and let it sit for a few seconds. If you want to do the same thing for the other side, flip it over. When you reach your desired consistency, you can flip back and forth. It's important to not overcook the dough. It will get harder once it cools down.
Step 13: The dough ball needs to be kneaded for 1-2 minutes.
Remove the dough ball from the wax paper.Let it cool down for a few minutes if it's too hot to touch. The play-dough should be kneaded for 1-2 minutes.
Step 14: Before storing the dough in the fridge, allow it to cool off.
You can put the dough in a plastic container and keep it in the fridge.A 16-ounce plastic container can be filled with 1 batches. You don't have to keep the play-dough in the fridge.
