Your messaging app's saved data is what causes your phone to notify you of unread text messages.If you ask someone to send you a message first, the issues will clear up automatically.If the issue persists, you can learn some tricks to clear those notifications permanently.
Step 1: Open the settings on your phone.
You can find it in your drawer.If you're receiving notifications for messages that aren't in your inbox, you can try this method.The issue of the app's icon reflecting unread messages may be solved by this.When a new message is received, these issues will clear up.You should ask someone to send you a message to see if that corrects the issue.

Step 8: You can open your app drawer on your phone.
You can tap the Apps icon at the bottom-center part of the home screen to do this.If your phone is displaying incorrect message counts for a messaging app, you can usually uninstall the app and clear the data for the "BadgeProvider" service.If you don't see an icon with several dots or squares at that location, try moving your finger to the bottom of the screen.
Step 9: You can hold the messaging app's icon.
You should see a trash can icon at the top or bottom of the screen after a short time.Lifting your finger from the icon is against the law.
Step 10: The icon can be dragged to the trash or uninstall option.
The app will be removed from your phone.If the app can't be removed from your phone, just skip to the next step.
Step 11: You can open your settings on your phone.
The app drawer has this app in it.
Step 12: The menu has apps.
This may appear as either or depending on your version of the phone.There should be a list of the apps on your phone.tap the option if you don't see all apps by default.It may appear as a tab but sometimes you have to open a menu and select something.
Step 13: Click BadgeProvider to scroll down and tap it.
The number that shows up on icon badges is controlled by this app.
Step 14: There is a tap storage.
Skip to the next step if you don't see this option.
Step 15: Go to clear data.
There will be a confirmation message.
Step 16: The deletion must be confirmed.
You can return to the home screen once the process is over.
Step 17: You should download your messaging app again.
You should no longer see an incorrect badge count now that the notification badges service has been cleared.
Step 18: You can download the app from the Play Store.
If your default SMS app keeps notifying you of new messages you don't actually have, you can switch it to something else.It's a solid choice, even if you don't keep it.There is an app in your drawer.To download the Messages app, type messages into the Play Store's search bar, tap the search button, and then tap next to it.

Step 21: Find the message you're being notified about.
It might appear with a red exclamation point or other sign that there's something wrong with it.Since it's unread, the message may appear highlighted.
Step 22: Hold the problematic message with your tap.
There are some different icons at the top of the screen.
Step 23: The Delete icon is on the screen.
The trash can icon is at the top of the screen.You should no longer see notifications for messages that have been deleted from your phone.If you're continuously receiving notifications, repeat this for any other message.
Step 24: If you want to change your default app, you have to do it in your usual app.

Step 25: You can open the messaging app on your phone.
If you are having trouble clearing notifications, try this method.The home screen will usually have the messaging app at the bottom.The messaging app has different options.
Step 26: You can open your messaging app's menu.
It will be at the top left or top right corner of the screen.
Step 27: The settings option is available.
Step 28: Go to the Manage Sim card messages section.
You'll usually have to choose an option first.There is a list of messages on the sim card.
