If you don't start a secondary blog with your old account, it will hold onto it for only 24 hours.Anyone can use it after that.

Changing your name won't get rid of your followers.It might be a good time to let them know that your name and URL have changed, so that they don't get confused.
Step 5: Go to the website.
You need to sign into your account.
Step 6: The settings option can be found under your account menu.

Step 7: You can update the blog by selecting it.
Step 8: The usernames section is where you should go.
You should see the pencil icon.Click that icon.The URL section is on a secondary blog.
