A great way to shape your face is to apply cream.Cream contours are easy to blend and provide full coverage, allowing you to create a chiseled look.Once you choose the right cream for your skin tone, create a base with your usual foundation, and learn where to apply your product, you can start sculpting like a pro.
Step 1: If you want to find the right shade, use a cream blush.
If you don't know what shade of cream is right for you, and you're not able to test the products before buying, you can use a palettes. The majority of the time, the cream makeup contains both highlighting and contour options. There are also single-color sticks. If you want to highlight, you will need to purchase two cream contour sticks. You will need a brush to apply the product to your face. You can use a stick to apply directly.
Step 2: If you have a skin tone that's darker than yours, choose a cream contour that is 1 to 2 shades darker.
If you want to create a more natural look, choose a cream that is only 1 to 2 shades darker than your skin tone. It's a good idea to first look at the foundation that you use to determine the shade that is an exact match to your skin tone, then choose a darker cream. If you are shopping at a retailer that sells testers of the cream, you can use a small amount of product to see if it works. If they are available, blend with your finger or a disposable sponge. If you want to mimic the shadows of your face, you should avoid products that are too far away from your skin tone, or that have shimmer in them.If you are unsure about your foundation shade, learning how to choose makeup for your skin tone will help you find the right foundation to create your base, and give you the starting point for selecting your cream shade.
Step 3: Do you like your cream shade?
The only way to confirm if a shade is correct is to apply it to your face, and the arm test is generally effective and more sanitary when you are testing a product in a store.Take a small amount of product and apply it to your cheekbone. You can blend away the lines with a brush or sponge. If the shade is right for you, the product should blend into your skin and leave a shadow effect. You may need to experiment with different shades before you find the right one because some retailers don't provide testers.
Step 4: Start with clean, hydrated skin.
Dry your face with a clean towel. Before applying makeup, apply your everyday lotion.Allow your skin to absorb the lotion. If you want to avoid irritation of your skin, use an exfoliant face wash before applying redness.
Step 5: You should use a makeup primer to prepare your skin.
If you use primer as part of your makeup routine, apply primer in an even layer to your cheeks, forehead, and chin.If you use an under-eye primer, apply it to your eyes as well.If primer isn't part of your normal makeup routine, you can skip this step. You might want to look for a primer that works for your skin type, as primer can help you apply your foundation evenly and make your makeup last longer.
Step 6: Apply your makeup.
If you wear a liquid foundation, apply it first. If you need to color-correct, apply your concealer at this point. To create an even base across your face, blend your foundation and/or concealer completely.Learning how to apply foundation can help you create a flawless base for your cream contour, if you don't typically wear foundation but want more coverage. If your foundation doesn't give you enough coverage, you can use concealer to hide under eye circles. If you use a powder foundation as your base, it's a bad idea. It's a good idea to avoid applying cream on the powder because it can cause it to be congealed.
Step 7: Draw lines on your face.
The tip of the brush should not be dripping if you dip it into the product. If you are using a cream stick, remove the cap and twist it to expose the cream.Draw a line of product down your face by using the wider side of your brush or stick. If you want your cheekbone line to get thinner as you go down, start at the top of your cheekbones and follow it down with a brush or stick. You should stop below the apple of your cheeks. If you have a hard time twisting the brush, apply an even thin line all the way down and then go back to your starting point and add to make the line thicker. If you are using a stick cream, start with the stick flat on your cheek and angle up as you move down so that only the rim of the Stick is touching your mouth. You can see a straight line from the outside corner of your eyes to help you figure out where to stop drawing your cheek line. This is where your line should stop.
Step 8: Take a look at your face lines.
To apply a thin line of cream to your face, use your brush or stick. If you want to follow your jaw inward, start at the beginning of it and stop on either side of your chin.To stop your line, visualize a line going straight down from the edges of your mouth.
Step 9: You can apply cream to your hair.
If you want to sculpt your face even more, use the thick side of your brush or stick to apply your cream on the right and left sides of the forehead.Stop when your head starts to curve in to the center. If you want to mimic the natural shadows of your face, remember to apply a contour along your hair.If your face shape is such that you don't get a natural shadow along the sides of your forehead, you might want to skip this step.
Step 10: To make your nose look better, use nose lines.
Draw a thin line of cream on either side of your nose to make it look thinner, longer or straighter. To start on the bone at the top of your nose, use a thin brush.Take a line and move it towards the end of your nose.If you don't want to alter the appearance of your nose, skip this step.
Step 11: You can blend your cream into your face.
Once you have blended all your lines into your face, use a beautyblender or a sponge to make sure you don't have any harsh lines left.If you want a more chiseled look, blend until the lines fade into your skin.Continue to blend your lines until you get what you want.
