Have you ever wanted to be smarter than you are, but are not smart enough? You can appear intelligent if you accomplish everything suggested here.
Step 1: Wear glasses.
People tend to associate glasses with intelligence. You may appear smarter if you wear glasses.Multiple studies have proven this phenomenon.
Step 2: It's time to expand your vocabulary.
Intelligenced people tend to use longer words. It looks silly when someone warps their speech into a bunch of jargon. If you can get a handle on the vocabulary, intelligent people use longer words because they're more precise and efficient, and they help explain things in a way that's easier to understand.Slang terms should not be used.Slang terms don't improve your image and may make some people less likely to see you in an intelligent light.
Step 3: Speak clearly and concisely.
People are more likely to pay attention to you if you sound intelligent. When you speak, don't cover your mouth. This can make you seem confused and muffle your voice.
Step 4: Speak when you can make a difference.
There is less room for people to judge you if you don't say anything. If you don't know much about the topic or feel uncomfortable with it, it's not a good idea to chime in.You are at risk of making mistakes that could hurt your reputation.
Step 5: Don't say things like 'umm', 'errr' or 'like'.
You appear as if you don't know what you're talking about when you use sentence fillers.Plan out your next statement to avoid sentence fillers. If you take a few seconds to think before you speak, you'll be less likely to make a mistake.
Step 6: You have to dress the part.
You will need several blazers, various shirts/blouses and smart-looking trousers if you want a'smart-casual' wardrobe. The illusion that you're an intelligent and precise person can be created by maintaining your appearance.A neat haircut shows that you want to look smart and low maintenance. You don't want to style your hair every morning, but still care about your appearance.
Step 7: Explanations and summaries will be looked for.
Do you want to continue the conversation with your friends? If you don't have much patience for the classics, at least you know what they are about by watching a film adaptation or reading CliffNotes.Take a look at famous authors and popular theories. You can get crash-course lessons on a couple different topics. You can search on the Internet.Would you be interested in psychology? If you want to learn more about the theories and theorists, you can pick up a small book called Psych101.Many explanations of higher-level topics can be found on video-streaming websites. The first thing you could do is search for "Quick Philosophical Topics".
Step 8: With your current knowledge, answer the questions completely.
Don't try to understand a topic that you're not familiar with.People who are intelligent are not afraid to admit they don't know everything.Nobody does that.
Step 9: Don't swear or use other types ofvulgar language.
The main reason to swear is to use shock tactics; using language that society deems inappropriate is supposed to add meaning to your statements.People with better ways to make their point are more likely to look down upon profanity.Don't use foul language to explain your emotions. You'll impress your friends with your new vocabulary.
Step 10: Being arrogant has nothing to do with being intelligent, or being rude.
