Windows 8 apps can often be blocked by the Windows firewall.Adding an exception will solve this problem.
Step 1: "Firewall" can be found in the Windows 8 Start menu.
If you have a touch screen, you can use a settings menu which has a search option.The Windows button on your keyboard can be pressed at the same time as pressing the "s" key.
Step 2: You can choose from the options in the top left.
Step 3: You can allow an app or feature through the Windows Firewall window.
Step 4: You can change settings in the next window.
You can allow another app in the bottom right corner.
Step 5: To add an exception to the list, select an app to add in the window that pops up.
