Is height or size more important on snowboard size?
It used to be that the length of a snowboard was simply decided on your height. If the snowboard came roughly to your chin you were good to go. These days weight is more important than height when deciding your snowboard's length. Heavier riders need longer snowboards, whilst lighter riders need shorter snowboards.
A beginner might not be able to handle the length. This is why beginners are often recommended to start with a slightly shorter board. At the learning stage, a shorter snowboard can help you out since it is easier to turn when compared to a long one.
What board size should I get beginner?
A minimal surfboard is what we recommend for most beginner surfers. It is the mid-range of surfboards lengthwise varying from about 7-8ft and about 2 5/8″ – 3” thick. The width of a minimal can vary to cater for the rider but typically they are about 20 1/2″-22 1/2” wide.
What type of snowboard should a beginner get?
The best shape for a beginner snowboard is a true twin shape. A true twin shape is perfectly symmetrical - like having a centered stance this makes it easier to find and keep your balance. This is more so the case if you are looking to start learning tricks, and want to learn how to ride switch from early on.May 29, 2020
