Usually, the extraction process involves the use of butane or carbon dioxide. To consume cannabis concentrate, you need something scorching to inhale the mixture, which is usually a nail. To reach the necessary temperature, you need a torch!Dec 11, 2020
Can you use a lighter instead of torch for dabs?
Unless you're using some sort of electric rig, you'll never get it up to temp without a torch lighter or actual blowtorch. The key with a dab rig is getting that thing glowing. As you begin inhaling, touch the dab to the hot part and get it all in one hit. Whatever doesn't vaporize will be wasted.
What can I use instead of a blowtorch?
- Set your oven on Broil (high) and put your rack on the top shelf.
- Let the oven get nice and hot (3-7 minutes).
- Fill an oven safe dish with crushed ice and water and place your dishes into the ice/water bath.
- The cold bath should keep the custard from cooking, but the sugar on top will heat till it caramelizes.
Can you use a lighter instead of a blowtorch?
You can use a lighter, but they burn very inefficiently and will impart a flavor/smell that is very unpleasant. Possibly check with a tool rental place and see if you can rent a blow torch or even call a local plumber and see if they can lend you one.
How do you caramelize without a torch?
But there's a workaround if you don't have a torch. After cooling the custard and sprinkling sugar on top, you can simply place the ramekins directly under your oven broiler, and carefully watch the sugar burn and form that glorious topping.Feb 1, 2017
