How do you seal a rush seat?
Spread one coat of shellac with a paintbrush and let it dry -- which takes about 20 minutes -- then spread a second coat. When you're applying linseed oil, wipe on several thin coats with a rag. Rub the excess off with a clean rag after each coat and wait for the oil to dry before applying the next one.
