I'm trying to get photos off a phone. When I plug it in, it says " connected as a media device" on the device screen, but there are no files in Finder, no new folder shows up in /Volumes, and neither Image Capture nor Picasa see it as the camera.
After setting your camera mode, you can use Mac's image capture.Do the following:
You will be able to preview and import your pictures and videos if you open Image Capture with your Nexus 5 plugged in.
If you install the app, you can use it to access the phone's memory and copy off files.
You can use the application to view and transfer files between your Mac and an Android device.
Mac users only. You don't need anything else to connect your device to the computer.
You can do it without a computer. Both Airdroid and Web PC Suite are wireless connection apps. You can transfer files via the internet if you connect the two devices.
It has always been a nightmare to transfer files between devices.I am not a big fan of the lack of support for Android phones on macOS.They were either slow, bug-ridden or expensive.I decided to write a macOS MTP app for myself.I thought of giving it to the community.
OpenMTP will be free for a lifetime and is safe, transparent and open-sourced.
