Does Ikea give extra parts? and how to get them?
I moved into a new apartment a few years ago.The move from my old place to my new one was an adventure in both packing and taking apart furniture so it fit in a vehicle to travel the few miles.
While everything was carefully taken apart and screws were placed in marked bags, somewhere between one location and the next we lost a few.
We made some makeshift replacements with things we had on hand, but this week I learned you can actually get replacement parts directly from Ikea, which would have made things a lot simpler.
You can find spare parts in the returns/exchanges section of the store.Domino says that it's a common occurrence for stores to pass out everything from a screw to an entire bag.
Domino has a list of Ikea hacks on its site. After opening on a weekday, the best time to shop is 30 minutes to one hour. You can get your shopping done before the real crowd arrives, so you won't miss the enthusiastic shoppers who got there right when the store opened. It goes without saying, but don't go on the weekend. The lines are always the worst.
