Does grape Kool Aid keep geese away?
I want to prevent birds from eating my fruit. There is an idea that spraying grape koolaid on fruit will repel birds. The University of Massachusetts did the study.I have seen a lot of different designs that I like.If it works, I prefer this method. The recipe called for 4 packets of koolaid for every gallon of water. It can be applied and wash off with rain.Anyone tried this?
I am aware that artificial grape flavoring is used as a bird deterrent in apple orchards, but I was under the impression that it was not the color of the fruit that had an effect.
The Grapple was invented by an apple grower who came up with the idea of adding artificial grape flavors to apples.I don't think there is a chance of getting the flavor into a fruit without trying very hard.
The artificial grape flavor is well known as a bird deterrent.
The color of the grape has nothing to do with this particular use of it.
Methyl anthranilate is a bird deterrent. It can be used to protect corn, sunflowers, rice, fruit, and golf courses.DMA has the same effect. It is used to make grape KoolAid.
I wonder if it would be cheaper to use the pure methyl anthranilate instead of the grape KoolAid.
