Could not use move tool because the target channel is hidden.
Whenever I try to do something, I get the message that the target channel is hidden. When I see that the alpha channel is hidden, I select the RGB channel. Why does it always switch back to alpha?
Nope.I had some masks, but they were in closed layer groups and not visible.
I'm not sure what you're doing, but I haven't heard a lot of complaints about it on the forum.
I can't think of a time when I've had a channel made active without being able to explain it.
Before changing anything, do a screen grab and post it here. There is a chance that one of us on the forum can spot something.Something will be shown in the History panel that will make it clearer.
This is the first time in 10 years that this has happened to me.I just updated my software a few days ago.
It worked for me as well.I created a mask and although I wasn't using it, it was still a channel.
If you want to change to quick mask mode, you have to go to the top panel. Then it switches back to automatic Alpha selection.
When I accidentally clicked on the curves icon, I meant to left click, but I didn't.The effect of creating a layer mask in a curves panel was achieved by using a wireless mouse.I didn't notice that I was creating a layer mask with curves in it when the curves panel showed up.I used my eraser and got the same message. It messed me up for a while, but I solved it by removing the unwanted layer and the alpha channel which was also created. When using the quick selection tool, I had a similar problem with the option key.I heard a click. My keyboard stopped working.I hit the option key multiple times until I heard the click.Again.It takes a long time to figure out what happened and how to fix a weird setting.Since it's not intentional, a person doesn't know what they did.Sometimes there is a sound that indicates something strange happened.
