If you haven't cleaned up your room in a while, you may not know where to start. If you have a lot of things, there are many ways to make your room cleaner in a few minutes. If you have the time, you can use cleaning products to refresh your space. You can transform your room with a little motivation.
Step 1: Make your bed.
The focal point of your room is usually your bed, so making it will help it look cleaner.Pull your sheets and blankets tight so they don't crease.Put your pillows out neatly. If you put your sheets under the mattress, they won't hang down.If you have things on your bed, you can put them in a laundry basket or on the floor.
Step 2: Garbage cans have old food and trash in them.
Start in one corner of the room with a garbage bag.Throw away any wrappers, empty packages, or food scraps that arecluttering your space by walking through your room.Trash shouldn't fall on the floor if you check under your bed and behind furniture. When you're done with your room, take the trash to the kitchen or outside.Pests and odors can be kept out of your room by cleaning up trash.
Step 3: Take dirty dishes to the kitchen.
Old dishes can accumulate old food and germs in your room.If you have dirty plates, bowls, cups, and silverware in your room, stack them up.You can clean the dishes later if you put them in the sink or dishwasher. If you have dirty dishes and crumbs, wash them as soon as possible. If you need to finish cleaning your room, don't worry about washing the dishes. If you have time later, wash them.
Step 4: Put your clothes in a laundry basket.
If you don't have time to sort through your clothes, fill up your hamper or laundry basket.Put the clothes in the basket to be cleaned up.Once you have all of your clothes in the basket, put them in a closet or laundry room so they don't take up space in your room.
Step 5: If there are other loose items, put them in drawers and closets.
The things on the floor and bed will make your room look messy.Put the items in their proper places if you have time.Try to fit your stuff in your closet, desk drawers, or shelves. It's important to keep your things neat. You can sort through things in a laundry basket or box if you don't have enough room in your room.To finish organizing, try setting a timer. If you set a timer for 2 or 3 minutes, you can sort through your stuff before you put it in the basket.
Step 6: Let in some fresh air by opening the windows.
If you have windows in your room, keep them cracked open.Fresh air will blow out unpleasant odors inside.Your window should be open the whole time you are cleaning to give you time to air out.If you don't have a window, try running a fan in your room to help circulate the air.
Step 7: An air freshener can make your room smell better.
If you smell bad in your room, try spraying an aerosol air freshener. If you choose to mask the odor, it may come back.Plug a spray air freshener into an outlet if you don't have one.If you have a ceiling fan, aim the spray at it.Candles or incense can be used in your room to get rid of odors.
Step 8: Use a damp cloth to wipe the flat surfaces.
If you want to get rid of dust and dirt in your room, you need to wet a cloth with water. The most visible surfaces are your desk and nightstand.Put a sock on your hands.Take one of the socks and wipe the surface with it.To clean the surface, follow up with the dry socks.
Step 9: If you have time, you can vacuum or sweep the floor.
You can use a broom and dustpan on hard floors. If you have carpeting, use the vacuum cleaner. There are areas where there are crumbs, dust, or dirt.Don't worry about doing a thorough cleaning here, just sweep or vacuum up the most noticeable debris on the floor.
