Cat Jowls in Male Cats, What makes an unneutered male cat have hard cheeks?
Tom cats are unaltered male cats.Intact male cats have a characteristic appearance, with a heavier, more muscular body, thick neck and a big, heavy tomcat head.If a male cat is neutered before he reaches puberty at 6 months of age, he will not develop these secondary male sexual characteristics.
Neutering a male cat will make him less aggressive. The smell of the male cat's urine will be eliminated after neutering.
I have been trying to catch a tom cat who has been attacking cats in the area.He dislikes a neutered male cat that he fought with and injured, so he sprayed the condo front and back and tried to get the cats inside. Will neutering him help?
It should help.Neutered cats are less likely to spray and mark their territory. This will help the cats in the neighborhood because he won't contribute to any unwanted litters and will be less likely to get into fights.Good luck trapping the tom cat.
A young neutered male is being fed.I am concerned because he is showing a change in his appearance that I think is related to male toms.He is no longer intact after I checked. Is this something I need to check with a vet about? Is it something that happens to males outside?
I have an all black male cat that is about 8 years old and lives in a complex with stud jowls.I have been trying to trap him to get neutered so it will give him a better quality of life, but he looks at the trap and then walks by spraying the towel that hangs over it.I have been feeding him and fixing an eye problem he had after a fight with another cat.He is blind in one eye.How can I get him out of that trap? Will he fight to get out and possibly hurt himself? This cat is very sweet.
Thank you Linda, for looking out for this cat. There are some great tips for trapping a cat that is wary.
