- Make a duplicate (which you already have done)
- Move the duplicate to a new location, such as the desktop.
- Delete or rename the "hosts" file in /etc to "hosts OLD"
- Drag "hosts" from the desktop to /etc. ( you may be asked for admin credentials)
How do I open and edit a host file?
- Press the Windows key.
- Type Notepad in the search field.
- In the search results, right-click Notepad and select Run as administrator.
- From Notepad, open the following file: c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts.
- Make the necessary changes to the file.
- Select File > Save to save your changes.
