19V in general is too high for a 12V device. I wouldn't recommend going any higher than 14–15V. Even if your device works for some time, it will likely get damaged after some time (it could be seconds, minutes, hours, days…).
Can I use a 12V power supply on a 19V laptop?
Portable computer Can an ac 12V adapter replace an ac 19V adapter? No No No No No No To expand the response in Taes, no, no, no. If you do not use the appropriate voltage adapter and amplifier the battery will not be charged, and the laptop will be very unstable, if it works at all.
Can I use 19V instead of 12V?
Any device that was designed to run at 12V is likely to be fried by 19V. It might catch fire, even though it's not very likely. You must have an equal or higher current rating in order to use an AC adapter.
Can I use a 12V charger on a 19V device?
Of course it's not safe; the battery will overheat and possibly explode.
Can I use a 12V charger on a 18v battery?
Look for a charger that has the same voltage and amperage as what you have in your battery. ... For a car battery to be good enough for use, it will need to read at least 13.8V. So if you are charging it with a 12V power supply, you can only get as much as 12V in the battery. It won't charge it higher than 12V.
What uses a DC power cord?
DC power is widely used in low voltage applications such as charging batteries, automotive applications, aircraft applications and other low voltage, low current applications. All solar panels nowadays produce DC power.
What is the purpose of a DC power supply?
The main job of an AC/DC power supply is to transform the alternating current (AC) into a stable direct current (DC) voltage, which can then be used to power different electrical devices. Alternating current is used to transport electric power all across the electric grid, from generators to end users.
Can you use a 20v charger on a 19.5 V laptop?
It's best to use charger of same specification and model. 20v can be used for 19v as long as the current rating of 20v is the same or higher but only temporarily. Best to charge the battery and the then unplug and run the laptop, notebook etc on their batteries themselves to ensure the correct input to the circuitory.
