We have some great off-road and traffic-free cycling routes on Dartmoor, but please only cycle where you are legally permitted to do so. Cycling on open moorland or common land is not allowed unless on a public bridleway or designated route.
Can you cycle the West Devon Way?
The National Cycle Network Route 27 passes through West Devon, as the popular Drake's Trail between Plymouth and Tavistock, the Granite Way between Lydford and Okehampton and the Tarka Trail from Meeth northwards. This multi-use trail is mainly off-road, with many sections following old railway cuttings.

There are trails on Dartmoor on par with many bike parks I've visited, and not only that but there is the freedom of mixing up paths and trails occurring so frequently that it's your own bike park to create.

The Cornish Way is a 180 mile (288 km) cycle route which forms part of the National Cycle Network. It runs from Land's End, at the western tip of Cornwall, all the way to Bude on the Devon border. Here it links to the West Country Way which continues to Bath and Bristol.

Can you cycle the Dartmoor way?
You can cycle this route in either direction but travelling anti-clockwise is recommended because, for many of the junctions crossing traffic is avoided, and the hills are slightly more forgiving this way round. Watch out for the Dartmoor Way Cycle Route waymarkers on signposts along the route.
