Do ASA certifications expire?
In summation, official ASA certifications do not expire but you must stay up to date with your skill level. Every situation is different but in most cases where certification is held without somewhat recent experience, a simple 4 hour “refresher” is all it takes to re-qualify at a certain level.
How long does it take to learn sailing?
Our short answer to this question is it takes sixteen hours to learn to sail. We have found that it takes the average person about sixteen hours of instruction to be competent enough to complete this task. Granted, there are still lots of variables.
