Where is the model number on a Velux skylight?
Every VELUX skylight and roof window features a data plate mounted on the frame. This data plate contains the product serial number, which tells the skylight model, glass type and date of manufacture.
The VELUX brand window codes are found on the top right-hand edge of the roof window when you open it. The data plate tells you the type of window and the window size shown through the code. As shown below in the example, 304 would be 78cm x 98cm and the bottom window code 4 would be 114cm x 118cm.
What is the difference between Velux GPL and GGL?
The Centre-pivot (GGL) is manually operated and is recommended by VELUX for higher reach windows. The Top-hung (GPL) is manually operated and is recommended by VELUX for lower level installation and is ideal for shallower roof pitches. It is also suitable for escape purposes.
