The brain is a great place to draw.It is possible to make it as simple as you like by drawing lots of squiggles. The brain stem and cerebellum are included if you want more of a challenge. You can add color or label the parts once you've drawn the cartoon or realistic brain.
Step 1: Make an outline for the brain by drawing a large bean shape.
Draw a shape on your paper with a pencil. The outline for the brain can be made any size you want.Draw a circle that has an opening at the bottom. If you prefer, you could make the middle wider than the ends.
Step 2: Make a circle from the bottom to the top of the brain.
If you want to highlight a section of the cartoon brain, place your pencil on the bottom line of an outline near the center. It looks like a curlicue if you draw a half-circle that extends from the bottom into the center. The brain doesn't need to look realistic since you're drawing a cartoon.
Step 3: There are 2 to 3 lines that connect across the brain.
The brain is wrinkled and some of it extends across the entire brain.Make a few wiggly lines that move from the outline to the half-circle you just drew or have them touch the opposite side of the brain.
Step 4: There are a lot of small squiggles that don't connect.
You can make them over the entire brain. You don't need to make them all connect to each other because you can make different sizes and lengths. You can extend your lines from the outline of the brain or you can cut them off.
Step 5: To add texture to the brain, make the outline thicker.
Draw over the lines you made for the outline to make them bolder and curvy. You can draw over some of them to make them stand out.If you want your cartoon brain to look more 2-dimensional, skip this step.
Step 6: There is a horizontal oval that juts out along the bottom line.
The brain should be as large as you want it to be.Curve the top of the ellipse in the middle to make the brain. The bottom line should be drawn near the middle. The brain is about 1/3 the size of the bump.If you want to go over mistakes with a pen, keep your pencil marks light.
Step 7: The curve is above the top line of the brain.
This will make your drawing bigger.Draw a line that curves over the top line with your pencil. It should be over the original outline at its widest point. You can skip this step if you don't want to give the brain dimensions.
Step 8: Make a curve that looks like a C.
You'll start to draw lines that separate the different parts of the brain once you've drawn the basic outline. The base of the C shape should fit into the bump if you locate it on the bottom line. The C should be extended towards the middle of the brain. The temporal lobe will be the area of the bump.
Step 9: From the outline to the middle of the line, trace a curved line.
Draw a line from the top of the brain to make another segment. It should connect to the middle of the line you drew. The frontal lobe is the segment that you blocked off.
Step 10: There are 2 to 3 curved lines across the brain.
Make several lines with a light touch. The shape of the individual segment can be mimicked. The lines near the back and bottom of the brain should curve down toward the base as shown in the example. It is easier to make the brain's wrinkling when you use faint lines.
Step 11: To make them look wrinkled, add half-moon shapes to the lines.
Instead of leaving the lines, make half-moon curves. The brain looks bumpy when the curves go in different directions. The brain has a distinctive texture. You drew a piece of the brain on top of it.To make the brain appear bumpy, make small curves along this.
Step 12: The stem and circle are at the bottom of the brain.
A narrow tube that extends from the bottom of the brain is needed to make a brain stem. You can make it go down as far as you want.Draw a circle to the right of the stem. The half-circle should go to the end of the brain. The cerebellum can be filled with thin horizontal lines. The lines should be wavy so they look realistic.
Step 13: Add color to your drawing with crayons, markers, or colored pencils.
You can shade the brain with a single color or use several colors to highlight different parts. If you'll be labeling the parts of the brain, use 5 or 6 colors. The different colors can help the segments stand out.
Step 14: If you want to use the brain as a reference, label it.
Drawing the brain and labeling it is a good way to study it in class.Refer to your textbook to label it.
