One of your darts is going to miss sooner or later, whether you are a pro at hitting the bullseye or not.It is a good idea to hang your dartboard in a cabinet in order to not damage your wall. It's easy to install your own dartboard cabinet.
Step 1: There must be at least 8 feet between the board and throwing area.
You'll need about 8 feet between yourself and the board, as well as additional space to account for your arm movements while you throw. If a stray dart misses the target, don't hang your dartboard cabinet near paintings or fragile objects.
Step 2: To make sure the cabinet will fit when it's open, measure the wall.
If you don't measure the width of your cabinet when it's closed, the doors might be obstruction when the cabinet is fully unfolded.
Step 3: You can measure the height of the board.
The regulation height for the bullseye of a dartboard is 58 inches. If you're playing on a league or just want to follow the rules, hang your cabinet so your bullseye will be at this exact spot.
Step 4: If you are just playing for fun, you should measure the bullseye.
You can adjust the cabinet to a height that will be comfortable for you if you don't mind having a regulation board. The bullseye will be at eye level if the cabinet is centered.
Step 5: Use a stud finder.
The stud finder should be put across the wall.Once you've found the first stud, mark it with an X at the height you want your bullseye to be.
Step 6: The next stud needs to be found.
To make sure your cabinet is secure, you'll need to anchor it.Since the standard width between studs is 41 cm, you can either use the stud finder again or measure from the first spot.Use a pencil to mark this spot.
Step 7: If you can't find the studs for your dartboard, use wall anchors.
If you don't have a stud finder, you will need to use wall anchors to attach your cabinet to the wall. The screws have something to attach to when you place these plastic or metal pieces into the wall. You may have to drill a hole first if you choose the style of anchor.
Step 8: The bullseye mark is where you want the cabinet to be.
The bullseye is located at the center of most cabinets. The center of your cabinet will be determined by the mark you made to indicate your dartboard's height.Use your pencil to mark where the pre-drilled screw holes are located.
Step 9: Make sure the cabinet hangs straight with a level.
You can buy a level at a hardware store or download a levelling app on your phone.Simply place the level on the top of the cabinet and adjust the angle until the indicator is in the middle.Attach a laser level to the wall and hang the cabinet to make sure the top is in line with the laser line.
Step 10: If your cabinet doesn't have holes, drill them.
Most dartboard cabinets have pre-drilled holes for easy installation. If your cabinet does not have pre-drilled holes for the wall screws, you will need to drill 4 holes near each corner. You might not be able to anchor the cabinet in your studs if the distance between the holes is more than 16 inches.
Step 11: The cabinet needs to be mounted on the wall with screws.
Most dartboard cabinets have all of the hardware you will need to mount them. The provided screws can be used to secure the cabinet.
Step 12: If your cabinet doesn't have screws with it, use a #8 screw.
A 32 inch screw is a standard screw for installation projects.There is a 2” (51mm) length.
Step 13: The cabinet should be adjusted.
Measure the height of the bullseye after you hang your cabinet. If you need to make changes, shift the cabinet until it's in the right location, then secure it with the screws.
